Can I believe what I want?

In principle, everyone can believe whatever they want;whether in God, fairies, goblins, or Santa Claus. This does not mean, however, that what we believe is true. We cannot choose the truth. What we believe is either true or false. Believing in a lie is of no use to anyone. Since there is one God, there is only one truth about God. We must therefore accept that God is as He is. If we bend God to suit our own purposes, then we are no longer worshipping God, but a self-made idol.

With regard to religions, it's also not about what pleases us or what promises us a more comfortable life. It's about truth and redemption from sin, judgment, and death. It's no use following a religion that isn't based on the truth and can't save anyone. To be saved, we must follow the path God has set before us. The only way to God and eternal life is Jesus Christ. Through faith in him, we can receive forgiveness of our sins and be redeemed from judgment and death. Every other path leads to destruction. The decision of which path to choose is ours.

We find the truth about God in His Word, the Bible. Anyone who reads God's Word will sooner or later realize that some of what God says doesn't align with their own beliefs. In this case, it's necessary for us to accept God's truth and change our attitudes. Instead, many people make the mistake of trying to adapt God's Word to their own desires and ideas. Those who do this not only distort God's Word but also turn the truth into a lie. This is precisely the approach of the devil, the father of lies.

If we understand that everything God tells us in His Word is for our best and is the key to peace and true life, then it shouldn't be difficult for us to accept the truth. When we believe God and live according to His Word, we find certainty that God's Word is true. For God Himself clearly confirms His Word. If, instead, we reject the truth or deceive ourselves with apparent truths, we close our way to God and eternal life and instead pave the way to damnation....

Guide me in your truth and teach me, for You are God my Savior, and my hope is in You all day long.

Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me!"
