What happens to people who knew nothing about Jesus?
even before Jesus appeared on earth, God revealed himself to people in many ways. First and foremost through prophets and God-fearing individuals whom He called into His service. Israel was the first people God chose to share in the promises of His coming kingdom. Before that, it was individuals like Noah, who built the ark, and Abraham, from whom the people of Israel emerged. With them, God made a covenant to fulfill His plan of salvation for humanity. From their descendants would arise the Savior of humanity. This Savior is Jesus Christ. Jesus died on the cross for the sins of all people. Then God raised him from the dead. Through his shed blood, Jesus can redeem from death all who turn to God. This also applies retroactively to all people of past generations who did not know Jesus personally.
Furthermore, the Bible testifies that God encounters every person several times in life and gives them the opportunity to repent and make peace with God. Everyone who hears about Jesus is called to reconcile with God. Those who refuse will remain under God's wrath. However, those who choose Jesus will receive forgiveness and be allowed to participate in eternal life in God's new world.
