CLIMATE CHANGE
One of the issues that most concerns humanity these days is climate change. Opinions differ on this controversial topic. While some blame increased carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions for the supposed global warming, others claim that it is a natural phenomenon over which humans have little or no influence. Even among scientists, there are different views on this matter. While the costs of so-called climate protection are rising and placing a financial burden on more and more people, there are some who are profiting greatly from the measures adopted. In the debate about the true causes of climate change, most people ignore one essential aspect.
The greatest environmental disaster in human history to date is the Flood; a global flood of unparalleled proportions that occurred around 5,000 years ago and is attested to both in the Bible and in numerous extra-biblical accounts from antiquity. Crucially, the Flood had neither natural causes nor was it the result of human-induced emissions. The Flood was a judgment that God brought upon the earth because people disobeyed His commandments, even though God gave them 120 years to change their ways. A timely repentance could have saved humanity from this devastating catastrophe. But in the end, only eight people survived the Flood: Noah and his family, as he was the only one who remained faithful to God and obeyed His commandments. All other people perished in the waters of the Flood....
Time and again, we hear of dramatic environmental disasters that claim the lives of many people. Just like war, disease, and other forms of suffering, they are the direct consequence of our godless way of life on earth, through which we harm not only ourselves and our fellow human beings, but also nature. The solution to all these problems does not lie in costly "climate rescue programs," the actual benefits of which are highly questionable. Rather, every human being is called upon to repent of their sins and reconcile with God. If all people respected God's ordinances, we would have no need to fear any natural disasters. Disaster protection would therefore no longer be necessary.
God is Lord of the weather. He also has the power to protect us from disasters of all kinds. The prerequisite is that we adhere to His commandments, as Noah and other God-fearing people throughout history set an example. The fact that God allows disasters to occur is meant to show us that transgressing His commandments does not come without consequences. The further we stray from God, the more we feel them. On the other hand, God shows us much patience, just as he did with the people in Noah's time. But even God's patience is not unlimited. If we listen to God and repent, God can forgive our sins and bless us. The sooner we do this, the sooner we can be helped. Unlike climate protection, this doesn't cost us a cent. Moreover, God gives us His promise that one day all suffering in this transitory world will come to an end. Then, after God has renewed this shattered earth and freed it from all evil, true and imperishable life begins in eternal joy and harmony, in which everyone who accepts God's invitation can take part.
